A star thing where you can get one named after you.

i'm godmother in january to my friends dd1 and i'm getting her a bear from the bear factory and dressing it in a christening dress, they are such a lovely keepsake

How about a really nice book/set of books - maybe some form of children's classic.

or a beautiful wooden noah's ark

A lovely collection of books goes down well - Perhaps winnie the pooh e.t.c. This is what my best friend brought my little girl on her christening and I am so pleased she did as I am looking forward to reading her the stories already!

When I was christened my godmother gave me a gold charm bracelet and added a charm every year. It was lovely and I loved it but it was stoled during a burglary when I was about 15. I really wish I had it now

My husband and I, no this is not HM posting!, recently became godparents. We gave a pair of bookends and a selection of books suitable for the first year. We then plan to buy books for his birthday and when he is old enough to give book tokens. I would love to think that we may be encouraging a lifetime of reading.

Silver cufflinks engraved with his initials is a nice keepsake.
