My 15mth sleeping patterns have gone to pot since his molars have come through. Hes gone from two naps to just one in the afternoon which is fine but now he will only fall asleep when he is absolutely shattered and it normally ends up being on my shoulder. He is normally very good at bedtime and will settle himself but now the last wk or so he starts to scream hyseterically once we leave the room.Hes ok in his cot and does seem to be settling himself to sleep but only if we stay in the room with him.Ive been in there for up to 45mins sometimes and even then i have to creep out. Sometimes i only manage to get half way down the stairs and make the slightest creek and then hes up again sreaming.Whats going on and whats the best way to resolve it? plz plz

r u giving him calpol for the pain?
tbh, this is why i don't like controlled crying, because you have to do it again and again at various upsets.

Is he still in pain?

If not, then yes, I'd do cc again. It generally takes a lot less time the second (third, fourth) time you do it.

Were in exactly the same boat with DD who is 19 months. It started when she had a cold about 1 month ago.
She used to always go to bed on her own and talk until she went to sleep but now she cries as soon as you put her in the cot. If you stay in her room shes fine and falls asleep but the minute you try to leave she cries again.
Its become a battleground as we dont want to sit in her room every night but yet neither do I want to leave her crying. Weve done CC before and it never seems to work for us. She creis for 2hrs every night before we eventually give up.

If CC works for you then go back to that. I doubt your DS is in pain as he would still continue crying even if you were in the room.

Sorry I cant help but just wanted to let you know im in the same boat.
