it is cold outside
I'm 8months pregnant
DH is away so feel bad about DS being a bit neglected on the fun side of life
I'm so lazy I ought to have got him up 20mins ago from his nap but hoping he maybe just sleeps the rest of the day

If we go to the park I will last about 20mins from cold and boredom

We have playdough and painting and baked yesterday together

I am stumped for interesting fun stuff to do at home which I'm physically capable of!

Well, I might live to regret it but I'm considering flour. And not in a baking way! Softplay can wait!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 20/10/2011 14:56

ok, I really ought to get him up, then we shall

Play with Flour
Make a tent
Clean his toys
Probably get the inevitable trainset out again

That might take up 2 hours...then dinner then tv then bath then bed, whoop whoop

Thankyou!

join me sleepglorioussleep...we can compare notes later.

I already managed to chuck hot milk across my kitchen today so it'll need a clean up anyway

OP - just wanted to offer sympathy. I am in agony with PGP and am 7 months pg, but thankfully have only myself to worry about atm. Wishing you luck!

latrucha · 20/10/2011 15:03

Next time you're at the shops get a white vinegar cleaning spray (Savers near us do one). Or put some white vinegar in a cleaning spray bottle. Then he can help you clean the bathroom too. Grin

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 20/10/2011 15:04

thankyou!! you have mine too - to be honest if I had to sit at a deskjob it would be much much worse, at least having the toddler means I'm forced to move around a lot which actually keeps the worst of it at bay

I work from home. Had my physio appt today and am on strict orders to get up and move around every half hour. Wish i had a bath though ... that would be heaven

Boobz · 20/10/2011 15:13

Hide and seek. I can make that last half an hour sometimes.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 20/10/2011 18:00

i built a tent, a massive one, we put all the duvets and pillows under it, tons fo toys, he got bored in 5mins!

So we skyped his daddy, in the tent.
Had a snack, in the tent.
He used the potty in the tent.
He's now watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In the tent.

We did flour! It was fab! And all hoovered up. £1.50 worth of flour and good time had by all. Yours sounds fun too, op. I do lack the enthusiasm for fun stuff sometimes. But doing something different blows away the cobwebs and reminds me why I am largely speaking at home with my children.

a bit late for today, but my suggestion is:

cutting with scissors, DD and I have this lazy activity where she spends about 20-30 mins just cutting up coloured paper into small pieces, then when she is done we make 'artwork' with it. I just trace something simple like a snake or fish then we spend another 20-30 mins sticking them on with glue sticks. It is great for filling some time with minimal effort.

I am in the same position as you, 35 weeks with SPD so moving around is tricky. DD and I cuddle in the sofa watching movies usually, and today we went to Starbucks Blush. Luckily I only have her 2 days a week, the other days she is at nursery.

I find she never gets bored or cooking, playdoh, or painting, so we often do that daily.

Sleepglorioussleep · 21/10/2011 14:09

How are you today, girlwiththemouseyhair?

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 21/10/2011 21:49

in agony sleep, thanks for asking Wink think I slept funny so my cough + baby means I've got some weird horrid pain under my ribs, but that has at least blocked out some of the SPD pain!

My lovely parents have DS until Sunday evening though so plenty of time to rest

banana I feel awful for saying this but I'm so jealous, 3 mornings a week at nursery is normally ok when DH is around but it's bloody hard work when I'm utterly on my own. 35weeks with SPD sucks!
