Going out and taxis.

I'm interested in what other mums do if they are taking their toddler home in a taxi?
My DS is 16 months old and still to small for a booster seat. Can any one recommend a cheap car seat to use with taxis.

I really wouldn't put the belt round both of you. If there was an accident then your dd would be crushed detween you and the seat belt. I have no seem it personaly but as it would last as long as they need a seat it should be good value.

I use our travel system car seat in taxis etc (we don't use it in our car any more until 13kg (the max for the seat) - around 2.5 year old for all my DC and from 13kg would use booster cushion with seat belt router strap thing. Probably not totally ideal between 13kg and 15kg though.

Most taxis round here have a booster seat. Legally you don't need to put a child in a car seat for short local trips.

I don't use a carseat on a bus or train either
