Nursery staff with teary eyes... please help !

Tonight I picked up DS from nursery and his main carer had tears in her eyes (looked upset), she was with the manager and I have no idea what had happened. Normally I would not worry about this but she is the 3rd carer I see with a "very" sad face.
The deputy manager who took care of DS since he joined at 4 1/2 months has recently resigned (she was fabulous) but before she resigned I saw her a few times with red, watery eyes... I have never asked because I do not want to intrude but I am getting concerned that something is wrong.
I should say that my son seems quite happy there.
What should I do ? Talk to manager (what do I say) ?, talk to staff ?
Obviously I don't want to come across as nosy !

Anyone has been there ?

Pupuce - I haven't been in a situation like this, but I'm sure if you enquired what was wrong you wouldn't be seen as nosy just concerned, and anyway, if the staff aren't happy this could affect the childrens' moods, so I would say that as a parent you probably do need to know.

Pupuce, get in there and ask away. I am always on the lookout at our generally really happy and stable nursery for any sign of trouble. Happy staff = happy children, and what you've described would make me slightly edgy too.
Having said that, and sounded liked a paranoid sticky beak, I'm genuinely really fond of all the staff, and would want to know - and sympathise with - any problems they might be having, assuming they wanted to share them. Our son spends 45 hours a week with his nursery nurses and naturally you build up a friendly relationship with them. One of the staff really appreciates that we ask about her little nephew, who was born with minor but worrying kidney problems.
Hope it is not nursery-related and that whatever is upsetting them all passes soon.

Just called, got a defensive manager who said that last night's teary eyes of my son's carer where "man related" !!! and she didn't know what I was talking about with the other members of staff.
I will be on the look out for other teary-eyed staff and maybe ask colleagues if they are upset due to personal problems or work-related issues...

Just a thought but what is staff turnover like? I know someone whose son was at a nursery where the head was excellent with the children but with the parents and staff an absolute nightmare some days and others as nice as pie.
