My dd is 4 next feb and though is no longer in nappies at night, has regular little dribbles!! Also has learnt that if she feels like a bit of attention in the night she can get up and shout'I NEED A WEE MUMMY' at the top of her voice!! and she then gets the desired attention!! WHat should i do?

Put a potty in her bedroom and ignore her calls for you
Don't know about the dribbles though.

Its driving me mad.... we were up 3 times last night and because we are staying at my brothers i didnt dare ignore her. Someone has suggested putting a cheap sanitary towel in her pants before she puts them on and hope she doesnt see it. if she doesnt wake up i lift her at about 11 or 12.... not sure if that is just making it worse???

tbh we left it until ours were really determined which happened to be at just 4. Never lifted as felt it trains them that it is ok to wee in their sleep and they may not yet have a full bladder. You could call her bluff (assuming you are sure she is ready) and suggest pull ups unless she can show you what clever girl she can be, may be a sticker chart would help motivate her to only call when needed. If you decide to continue I think you'll have to be prepared for disturbed nights to begin with, especially in an unfamiliar house.

I don't think lifting is worth it at all. Especially if you don't wake her up fully when doing it - you're trying to stop her weeing whilst asleep afterall.

Personally, I just left DSs until they (a) had dry pullups at night (used pullups so they could go to the toilet if they woke up) and (b) asked to go without! We "trained" them to realise they were allowed to get out of bed to go to the toilet if they needed to - they thought it was very grown up to be allowed to get up in the night if they needed to. I think they were trained around 3 months or so before their 4th birthday but I can't really remember tbh! About a year after they were day trained.

In my opinion, night training isn't training as such, you do need them to be physically ready much much more than day training.

don't want to take a step backwards but am thinking of forgetting lifting her for now and see what happens.... she only ever has tiny wees so i think she genuinely has a small bladder. up until now she has slept like a log all through the night and to be honest i think it is more important she gets a good nights sleep than getting her dry. she was one of these kids who couldnt have cared less that her nappy was soaking and it took ages to get her anywhere near dry in day!!

"to be honest i think it is more important she gets a good nights sleep than getting her dry" - couldn't agree more. I value my sleep way too much too. If wearing a nappy or pull up at night doesn't bother her either then there is really no harm in leaving it longer.

only trouble is she wont wear pull ups or nappies but can get away with the sanitary towel idea if a gently persuade her..... i need a good nights sleep!

Try the following combination: waterproof mattress cover, fitted sheet, smaller waterproof mat (ask your local Lollipop agent), fitted sheet.
Leave the potty in her room and ignore her. If she's actually wet the bed she'll come to you so just whip the top 2 layers off and put her back down without speaking to her. Minimum fuss, minium attention. Does that sound really harsh?

not at all..... have ignored her over chriatmas and it seems to be working!
