DD(3) and Napping?

DD has recently started nursery and comes home really tired out. If I let her nap though, she is murder to get into bed at night and usually ends up in bed with me. DH and I rarely sleep in the same bed because of this.

I've tried to keep her awake but she just seems so tired I don't know if I should be.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

What age is your DD? My DD2 is just turned 2 and I cut out the nap a couple of months ago cause she wasn't going to bed at night, I let her rest during the day instead, watch a bit of tele or read some books with her.

She's 3.

The trouble is, if she sits in front of the tele she just falls asleep.

I really need her to start sleeping in her own bed.

My dd is the same age and was the same when she started nursery - it only lasted a few weeks. I tried to give her some quite time (stories/tv/colouring) or would go on a short drive to the shops and let her have a very short power nap in the car.

Hello
I had very similar, not helped by fact that DD1 also didn't want to get up in the morning. What helped for me was getting her up as early as I dared, and then keeping her out for the afternoon whenever I could. Small snacks also kept her going (even the odd chocolate button....), mid-afternoon bath if need be and then bed at 6. Which felt really mean but she was out like a light so clearly needed it.
Have to say, it wasn't exactly fun, tiring for her and me and she was monumentally grumpy but after 3 days it got so much better. We then managed to get onto a 7-7 routine relatively soon after. Although there are days when it's bed at 6 still.
Best of luck
