Baby Mozart DVD - am I a bad mum?

DS is 13 weeks old and absolutely LOVES his Baby Mozart DVD. Am I a bad mum for putting him in his bouncer for 20 mins in front of it so that I can get a few things done every day?

No! Never had a bouncer so no idea whether 13 weeks is the right age for them or not.

God no!!! Teaching him independence and how to be amused without mummy.

DD was watching cbeebies in a graco swing from a ridiculously early age . She loved Boo (still does), and it meant I could get a few bits done.

when my DS was this age I sat him in front of the TV to watch the Queen Mum's funeral..... I thought it would be good for him to say he'd seen it

Nope!! I put ds in front of Baby Mozart at 6 weeks - sent him to sleep every time.

He's 3.4 now and still occasionally asks to see it when he's sleepy. It's great walking into places places playing classical music in the background and my ds shouts out "Mummy, mummy that sounds like Mozart!" Chortle - if only they knew

ha ha! Hadn't thought of that potential benefit!

well Baby Simpsons didnt harm my children at this age (I believe anyway)

Niddlynono · 14/12/2005 12:45

You think that's bad. I once read a magazine interview to DS as a bedtime story. He didn't seem to mind, as long as I put on funny voices!!! [shame]

justadad · 20/12/2005 20:15

Both DD and DS seemed genuinley excited by Bach rather than Mozart when they were babies (DS still is). Try the Brandenburgh Concertos!

That's why thay have a repeat play button on it. At least I always thought so!

Skribble · 02/01/2006 23:28

Mozart is supposed to be very stimulating for the brain anyway. Babies seem to react very well to classical music.
