I used to use 'Moltex' from Little Green Earthlets, I had to use 'ordinary' nappies as night as they tended to leak. I used them from birth to potty training (25 months), and had no problems.

always seem fine, as good as ordinary nappies. Never tried composting them.

I used Nature Boy Nappies. I switched from Pampers after realising that mountains of nappies were going to landfil everyday. I couldn't face re-usables and looked into another brand which is completely degradable called moltex and decided that Nature Boy could just be popped in the shopping trolley whenever I was doing the weekly shop. I know they are not totally eco friendly, but much more so than normal disposables. I even bought the Nature Boy Nappy Bags and have since been converted to only using biodegradable swing bin liners and re usable shopping bags!

The Nature Boys for my DS worked a treat. Never had any real issues with them. Buy a pack and try them. I think everyone should at least give them ago. None of my friends 'converted' and I could never understand why, they wouldn't even give them a go. Strange!

I use them for both my boys and they're great. I've never had any problems with leaks, even all through the night.

orangina · 12/12/2005 14:58

I use these for dd and they are fine. No more leaky than pampers or huggies (sometimes nothing will contain the horror!), though they are a little bit more bulky.... also, i don't think they come in an "active" fit, but that may not be an issue. Can't stand the thought of the landfills either and am not about to go down the washable route (sorry!)

Mincepiedermama · 12/12/2005 15:08

Agree Moltex are much better.

NannyL · 12/12/2005 22:26

IMO nature nappies are as good as pampers and the same price, and a bit kinder to the environment....

however if you empty the nappy bin every 3 days (eg if you have a child who only wears night nappies) then the old ones are really manky and wet and quite gross TBH, much more so than pampers. They arnt as stretchy but i dont think that matters

chickyboo · 14/12/2005 21:54

I keep going back to the Nature nappies they really suit my dd's skin. Every time I use Huggies or Pampers(because they are cheaper)dd gets a nappies compared to Nature they are like plastic bags. Also I have never had a problem with leaking, always used them at night because of long contact with skin.

blueberlin04 · 14/04/2006 13:30

Used Nature Boy & Girl with both my ds (am now in the process of converting to washables) and found them great! They have a nice non-plasticky feel and the kids never developed any nappy rash. Love the nappy bags, too.

NannyL · 14/04/2006 13:35

I think they are great (well as good as disposables im a reusable fan but anyway!)

BUT.... if you want to reseal a USED nappy the tabs arnt at all sticky and wont keep it wrapped up and together in the same way that a horrible pampers nappy would

also if you leave them for a few days they sort of start to degrade themselves.... (found this as a nanny when little girl who only wore nappies at night and still had a nappy bin in her room etc.... the Friday nappy on monday morning would sort have started turning from a sealed nappy to wet revolting degrading 'paper'.... thats the best way i can think of describe it.... would get them into a dustbin within 24 hours. Wink

matnanplus · 14/04/2006 13:35

We have swapped to them as 'pampers' kept leaking and baby has a bad bottom, because nature were less chemicalized we moved to them, we don't have the leakage issue and they are just as absorbant.

AllBuggiedOut · 17/04/2006 19:06

Psychobable - do you mean that you have to compost them yourself to be better than usual nappies? I never realised, yikes!

Have only tried and Nature and I agree that they "feel" better, but I do have to change them much more often than a pampers and they're no good at night.

UniSarah · 19/04/2006 15:40

These were fine while ds was tiny, but now hes near the top of the wieght range for the size we have we are getting a lot of leaks. Mainly ds is in terries ( bumbles) so I only use natures occasionally, shame they are leaking as I've most of a packet un-used. Will have to find someone to pass them on to.
