Yep, but this is the woman who puts them into routine from week 1...mmm maybe I'm just envious because my baby was having none of it.

Hi Mummygow, I was in similar situation as you with ds. He would be put to bed around 7/8pm following 7 oz and then he would wake on the dot at 2 am demanding another 7 oz which I didnt mind too much. He would then wake around 4/5am which I hated and again at 7am for 7 oz. I wished he would skip the 5am feed.
In the end I reduced the ounces at the 5 am feed, so he was only having 2 oz at most. He wouldnt take water either.
One morning, I heard him wimper at 5am, and I ignored him. I then fell asleep as I was so tired and I woke at 7am in shock that I didnt feed him!
As for the weight I wouldnt worry, ds was 12lb 12 at this age. His weight has slowed down as he has got older.
Also I found that if baby wakes at 5am, what worked for me was getting up as normal to 'show' ds that it was morning and keeping him awake. That way he would have a long nap later on in the day and I could nap too!

Sounds like you're doing good, my dd woke three times a night at 6 weeks (was breastfeeding) but it's no time at all before they start to go longer between feeds. At 9 weeks she slept thru from 10pm to 6am for the first time and when I woke up with sunlight in the room I thought she'd died!! I rushed to her side to find her sleeping soundly. It will come, don't let GF make u feel bad, she depressed the hell out of me at first cos dd would not fall into her routine and I gave up but picked it up again after 3 months. I've always stuck by her routine very loosely, it works but don't let it run your life!!!!

I did the dreamfeed thing too at 10-11pm. But at 6 weeks old he shouldnt have to wait 4 hours between feeds. You need to pack in the calories during the day, so maybe a 3hr routine would be better.
You should ditch GF and have a look at Tracy Hogg - The Baby Whisperer. I followed alot of her advice which worked, some I thought was crap. It may help, it may not.
I hope things get better for you. I have a 5.5month old and went through exactly the same. He started sleeping better and now going through painful teething and I'm back to twice a night too!
Swings and roundabouts!!!

Hi guys joined the GF website and asked for her advise - they were great - told me that I have to follow my childs needs, especially as he is so young and advised me how to alter the routine to fit in with how my baby is sleeping and eating just now. Will follow their advice and see how it goes!!

Jen28 - I don't think this thread asked for your opinion about the GF routine. In fact Mummygow specifically said that she likes the routine. So why give her a hard time?
