Flush the bloody loo

should I expect my 11 year old son to remember to flush the loo when he leaves huge poo in it or am I hopelessly naive!?

My boys are 6 and 10 and I suspect that it is the older one who never flushes. I have to remind them all to wash their hands and when I asked my 8 year old dd if she had used soap, she said "I forgot." Why do they think that wetting their hands for 2 seconds = washing?!?!

I have stuck a notice on the mirror saying - Wash Hands. Use Soap.

I think some boys of this age just want others to see their poo.

One of mine would always flush the loo except when he had done a big poo. He deliberately wanted us to see this big truncheon - he found it really funny.

Eventually after trying various ways of encouraging him to stop - we decided to impose a fee for every time another family member had to flush the tollet after him. Every flush cost him 50p from his pocket money.

He soon learnt to flush his poo's himself.

DS2 had this issue. I would find turds welded to the bottom of the pan. It took THREE occasions of me sending him in with a loo brush to sort it out before he stopped doing it. And school say he is bright!! He is ten, btw. It hasn't happened for a while. I think i have got through to him Grin

My daughter was on the eco committe at her school. She proudly mounted a sign in our littlest room that said
"If it's brown, flush it down. If it's yellow, let it mellow."
Urgh.

Mind you, she doesn't follow her own advice and often forgets to flush.
And she has magic poo that won't flush away. Grrrrr

I have one who manages to "weld" theirs to the bottom of the loo. You can flush all you like, it won't go. Adults around here have to the "before and after" flush, 4 dc's and very rarely a flush between them

Oh god I have just posted this about my DDs, didn't see this....

The sign is a great idea. Will prob help littlest with reading too Grin.

Am going to make signs right now (well maybe tomorrow..)
