Gina Ford - New routine with a 4mth old baby?

I want to get my baby in a stable routine which co-incides with our family life. At the moment I have partially got him into one but it changes everyday. He is sleeping through the night apart from having to go to him a couple of times. I have just bought the Gina Ford ClBB and wished I new sooner about it. I have learnt so much from reading it. (ie. sleeping too much in the day)

Is it possible to do this. I have looked at the routine for a 4/5 mth old and the only thing I would miss out would be the last feed. Any suggestions.....

I have recommended GF's book to a lot of mums who were having some difficulties with their baby and often they were amazed that DS was so good, etc
Anyway, these recommendations always happened when their child was at least 2 months old and the ones that have chosen to follow GF routines have not had any difficulty adapting. I remember specifically my neighbour who decided to follow the routine when her daughter was at least 4 months old and she told me that in 2 days her daughter had picked up the routine and that within a week she was sleeping 10pm to 7am... so a success (the reason she had bought the book was that her daughter was far from sleeping through the night and she was getting really exhausted).
Be warn though that there will be days when your baby will just not be on the schedule (not sleep at a nap or be hard to wake up, etc....) don't worry it always comes back. Just don't force it.
What do yo mean "having to go to him a couple of times ?"

Good luck

When I say 'I have to go to him a couple of times during the night' I mean to put his dummy in, bearing in mind it's not all the time. I think I am going to try and wean him off it once he is on full solids. Thanks for your help. I can't wait to start the GF routine. I may have to change the times by 1/2 hour but I think it will work.

Try her advice on dummies as well ! As you can imagine it will be worth it.
Also read my postings under parenting : Gina Ford routines with Baby number 2.... you will see what I mean by flexibility.

Oh try her advice on just about anything!
I've lost count of the number of times she's been 'right' - I no longer think for myself - just go straight to the book!!!
