Oh remember it is written by an American so they can be a bit super enthusiastic compared to Brits!

I have depression and have done for a long time. I suspect since I was 15 but not diagnoses until 29.

Me too. Haven't needed a/ds for years but feeling like i'm on the edge again. Trouble is people think you need a reason i.e pnd, not just life in general.

Sorry to hear that, nm. Will you be going to the GP.

The wierd thing about illnesses like depression is its very hard to see if you need new meds, more help etc as whatever state you are in feels normal for you. Its really worth going back to your GP to talk about it. If you're given the bums rush, ask for a 2nd opinion.

If I say what is in my head will it be held against me in the future?

What here or at the doctors? Can't see it would matter either way. Dark thoughts don't mean that the Spanish Inquistion will descend. GPs are used to it.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 19/08/2011 17:14

Inquisition

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 19/08/2011 17:17

pm me if you want to say the thoughts non publically, but i know MN won't judge you.

TheOriginalFAB · 19/08/2011 17:25

On here. I would never say it to the doctor.

Have a look round the site, you will see loads of posts where mothers have unburdened themselves revealing that they want to hand their children to SS, have had thoughts about either harming themselves or their children or walking out forever...I could go on. There is always sympathy, understanding and sometimes a well needed kick up the backside. Also, really, truly your GP will not judge you and will get you help.

TheOriginalFAB · 19/08/2011 18:24

I am this ill because I had children. Having so many has made me worse. I can't cope with them and wonder what it would be like to have less of them. But OMG do I love them Sad.

FAB - have a look at the Mslexia blog. Tell me if it's worse than I've written...and I haven't even written as bad as it's been yet! PM me if you'd like to talk via email frankly and openly about how shit it is/has been x

TheOriginalFAB · 19/08/2011 18:58

FB I will PM you in a minute, thanks.

I wrote a similar post a few days ago. It is SO hard and SO exhausting.

I completely understand how you feel.

numptysmummy · 22/08/2011 10:18

FAB, how are you today. I haven't been to the docs yet. I'm very up and down with it so i think i'll see if i feel better when they go back to school. I sometimes think i should of had less children but then i know if i had i would of resented the fact that i hadn't had more. Whole lot of other issues here with eldest dc being sn and having had to home ed because of major probs at school.

TheOriginalFAB · 22/08/2011 13:43

I don't know if I posted but DH really shouted at the kids the other day and scared all of us tbh. Since then there has been a change. We are trying to spend more time with them, and they are trying to play more together and nicely, and ds1 especially has been an angel. I am also waiting before I respond to them as me shouting usually kicked everything off.
