TEANAGER TIME FOR BED

Hi Guys,currently having a bit of a disagreement with my DS.DS is 14 and on school hols, I have said bed time for him is midnight and that he has to be up by 12 next day.He feels quite strongly that I am being to hard.......I dont......can you tell me what time your teanager goes to bed and does above sound about right?

I tend to shoo them to bed by 11ish because that's when we go to bed. Not too sure what time they then go to sleep.

I think I go and get them up by 10ish if they're not up.

I haven't had much resistance to this so far so I haven't thought about it a lot. My dds are 15 and coming up 13.

Blimey, my dd is nearly 15 and goes to bed by 9.30 in the holidays. She gets up about 7.30.
Ds is 12, is in bed at the same time (but could stay up later if we let him) but sleeps in till 8.30.

Mine aren't teenagers yet but I would have said 11ish for a 14yr old during school hols. I wouldn't want my 14yr old up watching crap afetr we've gone to bed.

I think midnight is very reasonable. Could you agree on him being in his room by midnight even if he doesn't go to sleep?

DD goes to bed probably a bit earlier than I go to bed - around 11 in the holidays, between 9 and 10 when at school.

I went to bed the other night and she asked if she could stay up downstairs to watch a film - it finished at 1. I was a bit surprised but didn't think there was a problem - she is nearly 16. It felt VERY strange though, going to bed before dd.

AGree. There have been a few instances this summer of us going to bed before the dds. Makes me feel all pathetic

I've had dd2 opening my bedroom door to say goodnight and I've been lying in bed in the dark. Ffs.

Ds 15 next month usually gets ushered to bed when we go, but he stayed up until 5am the other day. He is usually up about 10.
DD 14 next month usually About 10 to 10.30 but she is usually up 8 or 9

thanks all so based on comparing he is getting a good deal from me and I will stick to my guns......looking forward to the drama of it all not lol...
