Ow indeed!

oooh helsi -really feel for you having had SPD myself in 2nd pregnancy. Wish I could offer you miracle solution.
Saw your thread re:website but don't know of any I'm afraid. I just did general google search, read stuff on here -it helps just to know that other people have had it. Also worth knowing that for lots of women (me included) it went as soon as I gave birth - went into delivery room on crutches and didn't need them again!

hornbag - there is hardly anything about SPD on the web which I find frustrting. You are right though the advice on here is great.

Its weird but when I was pregnant with DD (now 6) I never came across anyone with SPD, in fact I don't think I'd even heard of it.
This last time though (DS 17ms) I met loads of people who'd had it or knew someone who'd had it but still found it difficult to get information. There was certainly nothing in any of the pregnancy books.
Our local hospital had an Obstetric Physio who I saw. Gave me some info and tips (eg. sit on binbag in the car to make it easier to get in and out, sleep on a shiny-type sleeping bag to make turning over easier etc).GP and midwife, although sympathetic, not particularly knowledgable or helpful.
Good luck

I told my boss today that when I return to work after this absence I will need my chair adjusting. As I work in a disability centre that shouldn't be too hard for them to do.

think yourself lucky

I have PPP (posterior pelvic pain) already and unlike SPD it doesn't automatically go when you've had your baby - physio for 6 months afterwards too

seriously though, that sounds very very painful helsi, take care.

gloriainexcHELSIsdeo · 22/11/2005 12:16

thanks Enid - can you enlighten me as to PPP as I have also started getting a discomfort at the top of my bottom deep inside.

Enid · 22/11/2005 12:18

that'll be it poor you
