play date rules

I'm treading new waters delving in to proper after school play dates!! Should they include food, ie a meal of some sort? Visiting my dd's friends after school is often turning in to tea, which is lovely, but I don't want to overstay my welcome (if that makes sense).

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Just ask- (at yours) would they like to stop for tea? Or what time shall I pick up?

if parent says 6ish I think tea included

I haven't gone into those murky waters yet!
I'd clearly ask the parents if they want the child back before dinner/tea or ask when they have dinner and suggest a collection time ahead of that - depending on if you want to feed friends too.

Otherwise I would always provide a drink and small snack mid play time.

thanks, it is very obvious to ask! We are still doing visits with adults included.

My dd is 5 and I always do tea as she is very tearful if hungry so it suits her but I check with parent first.
