I’ve gone all shaky

I?ve gone all shaky

Just had a phone call on the land line, answered it and it was some young lad asking if my 11 year old daughter was here. Obviously she isn?t as she is at school, he then went on to tell me what he wanted to do to her, and I have to say I am shocked.

He put the phone down and I did 1471, not expecting to get anything, and can you believe he didn?t even withhold his number.

I was just about to phone BT and he phoned again.

I have no idea who he is, but I will find out.

piffle · 17/11/2005 13:45

WigWamBam · 17/11/2005 13:45

I think I'd ring the police as well as BT.

kcemum · 17/11/2005 14:10

Please, please ring the school and the police.

WigWamBam · 17/11/2005 14:10

Have you spoken to anyone yet, tensing?

nutcracker · 17/11/2005 14:16

You must ring the police now and rthe school, you need to check your dd is there for a start off.

This happened to my mom when i was in last year of juniors. A bloke rang and said he had snatched me and was going to do all manner of awful things to me.
A neighbour was sent up to school to check i was safe and bring me home. The police were called and i was questioned by a family friend who was a police woman.

I don't even remember it, I was told years later.

The bloke was caught and had done it to several people.

piffle · 17/11/2005 14:22

Come back to also say that I hope you're ok and get some answers and support.
I hope beyond words that your dd is safe in school and ok.
The police will be brilliant - they detest this sort of offence truly madly deeply.
Good luck, pls let us know what happens and that everything is ok

Any news Tensing ??

wishfulthinking · 17/11/2005 14:31

I too, hope everything is ok. I'm seething with anger at the thought of what you must be going through. Hopefully the police will deal with this swiftly and efficiently.

nutcracker · 17/11/2005 14:40

Have to go out now, hope everything is ok .

tensing · 17/11/2005 14:42

I spoke to BT, and I have confirmed that my daughter is at school, haven't told school why as I can't be sure that this little brat goes to her school, her elder brother goes to another local school and so it is fesable that it is someone he knows.

She is due home in an hour and I will ask her she has any ideas as to who it might be, then go to the police.

I would contact the police regradless as you don't know for sure that it was a young lad, it could have been anyone.

nutcracker · 17/11/2005 15:56

Meant to add, glad your dd is ok.

piffle · 17/11/2005 16:01

Agree pls call the police or drop by the station and speak to them.
If it is a child, then assuming what the phon call mentioned was of a sexual bature then a child rining up with that is just alarm bells to be frank
Ditto an older person.
If it is a prank and some kid being s amrt ass to freak you guys out deliberately then a quiet word from the cops will shut them up very smartish

nutcracker · 17/11/2005 16:08

The bloke who did this to my parents/me had gotten all the names from some cinema kids club thing.

Alot of people sound younger over the phone, so it really could have been anyone, and as piffle says, wether they were young or not, it still needs investigating.

tensing · 17/11/2005 16:35

I've found out who it is, got my son to phone the number from a payphone. A bit happier now as I know the 12 year old in question and I know he is over 150 miles away.

what a horrible experience

I'd be tempted to call the police on the little brat .. its abusive behaviour and whilst it might have been done as a joke it needs to be nipped in the bud ..

or at the very least call his parents

LadySherlockofLGJ · 17/11/2005 16:40

I would still involve the police, this is very worrying.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 17/11/2005 16:41

So he is 150 miles away on this occassion, if this is not nipped in the bud he may do it to some one local.

Marina · 17/11/2005 16:58

Or is he family Tensing
So sorry, what a horrible experience for you. He sounds like a disturbed young man. If you know him/his family, could this be a Social Services matter do you think?

piffle · 17/11/2005 17:01

my ds is nearly 12, if he did that I'd dob him in to the police myself.

gemma97 · 17/11/2005 17:05

Very sorry for you, tensing. This little s*d needs to be stopped now. If he did it for a joke then the long arm of the law will scare the living daylights out of him and if he didn't do it for a joke then he REALLY needs help.

My guess is that he was put up to it by his stupid mates and thought you were far enough away that he wouldn't get found out. Kids can be idiots at this age (I teach teenagers, most are usually lovely) and he NEEDS to find out what the consequences of his actions are. It's up to you but I would call the police.

Tortington · 17/11/2005 17:17

call the police- at what point will this kid know its unacceptable?
