How do you keep a baby's hands warm at night?

I know that baby's hands are naturally quite cold at times, but I'm really worried about nighttimes. My daughter Nell is 4 months old and sleeps in a sleeping bag and a long sleeved body suit and pyjama top, which is supposedly fine for a nursery temperature of 18 degrees overnight. Her hands feel like blocks of ice though, and I don't know what to do. Do other people keep the room warmer or use scratch mittens or anything else?

we always swaddled ds and he was toasty! even his hands

if you're worried i'd just use scratch mittens although i don't know that they'd make them that much warmer

With ds i used to use scratch mitts and will do the same with DB. The other thing is next sell babygrows were the sleeves fold over the hands so keep them warm.

You don't need to keep their hands warm. As long as the rest of them is warm they will be fine. If you are unsure of their body temperature, feel at the back of their neck - if it is warm there, they are warm enough.

Even if you put scratch mitts on their hands you will find they still get cold anyway.

bigger sleepsuits that the arms are so long that they cover her hands?

I have seen somewhere sleepsuits that have 'covers' that fold over the hands......or was I dreaming?

You don't need to worry, it's normal. If their tummy or back is warm when you put your hand down their sleepsuit/clothes then they are warm enough.
