no sorry pretty sure that it had toys and wooden in the address and since every permutation of that has already been suggested thinks it is a no hoper sadly.
If I ever find it will let you all know and put you out of your misery .

because they are non toxic, wholesome, don't clash with the tasteful decor, environmentally rfriendly, strong and embody the spirit of the past and other principles montessori and woodland folk

Could it be Holz Toys ? Very expensive but some great toys....

zippitippitoes · 15/11/2005 09:19

it is by and large idealists who buy them, although brio and it's copies are probably the exception..

things that work in wood are traditional baby walkers with blocks
blocks
simple shape sorters
noah's ark as christening present/decoration
drum
xylophone
lorry
dolls houses with some reservations

pull along toys look decorative but I'm not convinced they are played with much

the following will be more played with in plastic

kitchens
play worlds..playmobil
garages
cars
young baby rattles etc
fruit and vegetables

first jigsaw puzzles good in wood too (lift out kind)

tarantula · 15/11/2005 09:25

Unless said pull alongs have loud bells Zippy [groan]

zippitippitoes · 15/11/2005 09:26

there are loads of really nice wooden toys with nil play value

zippitippitoes · 15/11/2005 09:30

I do wonder how all these little companies selling wooden toys on the net survive tbh, postage is expensive as wooden toys are heavy, advertising costs a fortune and things like brio are always cheaper in the big toy websites and if not the mark up is rubbish anbd everyone buys the track in Tesco and chery picks the odd brio item.

And if you did a poll on here as to who buy s wooden toys once the honeymoon period is over or they have their own kids it would be tiny i bet.

LunarSea · 15/11/2005 12:43

Are you sure it wasn't this one:
woodentoysonline.co.uk ? (scroll down for the train box)

small catalogue - YES
sold their own brio compatible trains and play tables - YES
wooden box for a train set - YES
make their own toys no brands sold on the site - YES
toys and wooden in the address - YES

popmum · 15/11/2005 13:25

OK, completely the opposite - anyone know of a good toy which is suitable for a v. bright 2.5 yr old which has LOADS lights, noise, plastic stuff on? Def. NO WOOD!?

zippitippitoes · 15/11/2005 13:39

This is a typical unbranded wooden railway sold by no brand wooden toy cos in the UK
Wooden Railway

Tumblemum · 15/11/2005 22:35

Lunarsea, yes that is the website!!!!, missed the train box as no picture, thank you, thank you....

By the way I am not a wooden toy freak I just wanted a box for the train set and all his electronic toys , once again thank you all - finally a happy ending.
