How does should a child be before you take them to a pop concert?

You serious?

If you are serious, then I suppose it just depends on you.

I recently took a friends daughter (aged 4) to see Pink, and she sat at peace the whole time and was well behaved.

If the child can sit for that long and pay attention and can deal with the crowds then he or she should be fine.

If you're worried about their ears then it is possible to get ear protectors, but I don't know where from.

HTH

Yes, I'm serious! Is it a really stupid question? I don't every remember seeing any children at a pop concert. Apart from Steps, years ago.

I did ask a 12 year old to accompany me, but he politely declined. His 8 year old younger brother was very keen to go, but I wasn't sure if it was entirely appropriate. He has no problem with crowds or noise, in fact is quite a thrill seeke, so George Michael might be a little dull. If he pulls out his DSi after I've paid nearly £80 for the ticket I may be a little peeved

Depends on the child.

DD is 9y. She is coming with me to see Take That on Monday, and went on the last tour too, aged 7y. She is also going to the Whychwood festival next weekend, along with her friends who are 8y and 5y.

I've been to Cambridge folk festival with old flatmetes from uni for years now. When one friend started her family the baby came too.

No probs at all. Noise reducing headphones from Amazon. 4 days although admittedly not camping.

And it rained.

So 7 months (or bump!) was fine. Admittedly this was with a ratio of one DC to 5 adults, so in our favour, but was a bit more tricky once he was walking last year!

I took DD aged 6. Went equipped with earplugs (B&Q sell them next to the goggles & safety gloves.

We left after about 7 songs because she hated it so much I couldn't put her through another hour, even though it was a band she had been desperate to see for months. Sitting in an arena miles from the stage is quite weird when you think about it.

"Depends on the child."

And the venue. A friend of mine took her 11 year old daughter to see a band recently. The organisers said that she should be 14, but they let her in because she is tall and looks older than she is.
