Morning all,

DD (4 months) is due her third lot of injections this morning. She's been full of cold, off her feeds and a bit miserable since Sat; is obviously feeling much better this morning but still v snotty. Should I take her, or do it next week?

Thanks

If she has a temperature I would advise caution, as you can't tell if the immunisation has provoked one otherwise.

If it is just a cold there should be no problem.

Hope she feels better soon and you are OK, it is stressful having a poorly wee one!

They advised us that a cold is ok.

Probably too late to respond if your appointment was this morning but just wanted to say that wowooo is right, a cold is not a contraindication for immunisation. That is to say, you should still go for the jab.

If she gets a fever after whether it is from the jab or the cold you would treat it in the same way anyway.
Where ever possible it is best not to delay immunisation because it leaves your LO vulnerable to catching the diseases that the vaccines protect against.

Thanks for the replies - I got hold of the health visitor in the end and she said to give the injections a miss. Shows what they know!
