Chuffing Nora! I thought 6 was too old to worry about them shoving stuff up their nose!

DH has just taken our DS1 to get a bead removed. I can't even SEE the bloody thing, he must have shoved it HARD. He said it's a spiky one (of course) and that it really hurts.

I am Sad for him but also a bit aargh as it just so daft!

I feel a bit sick actually - always get a bit panicky when ever they are in pain/ill.

Anyone got any similar stories that will make me laugh while I wait to hear from my DH?

No similar stories (yet) but I do have a top tip for removing stuff from noses. When I took my DS to have a load of peas removed from his nose (sigh), the Dr told me to pinch shut the nostril that had nothing in it, then blow into his mouth. The peas came out really easily. Mind you somthing spiky might be wedged too firmly to come out with that method. Kids hey! Hope he's ok.

Thanks MrsGravy. Though I really hope to never need to put that advice into action!Grin[hiding all small objects emoticon]

They are back now and all is well! Bead was huge. Shock. DS wants to keep it to show everyone. Grin

I have a nearly 6 year old. I am sometimes surprised at just how silly he can be!!

DS2 trotted through to us one day and said
"mum, I've got a piece of coal stuck up my nose".
Now we were puzzled because, although we do have a coal fire, lumps of coal are quite large and there was no tell tale black smudge around his nose.
It turned out to be a lump of Thomas the Tank Engine's coal.
A small, black plastic bead. Luckily we retrieved it without a trip to A&E.

A work colleague recently took their 16yr old to have a bean removed from their nostril. He wanted to know if it would get stuck. Cue red faces in casualty! Grin

My dh thought ds, 4, had some kind of weird snot when he blew his nose, showed me the tissue and I recognised multigrain flecks and realised he'd put some bread up there. When asked ds denied that he'd put bread up his nose, but he did say he'd found some tomato in there too :)
