My DD will only take one brand of dummy, and only the newborn ones when she should be on the 3-6mo ones, does it matter?

I'm not sure but i don't think so, if your baby is happy with the little ones what is the harm in letting her use them, they are not an essential piece of kit IYSWIM so it's not like they have to have a certain type at a certain age.
Our DD started spitting out the newborn ones at 3 mths so we upped the size and she was happy with that, but that's just her.

I don't think so.

Both my 2 DC had the 6-18mo Avent ones pretty much from birth until they gave them up (DS1 was just over 3 and DS2 is 2.6 and still has it and is likely to for the foreseeable future Grin)

Go with whatever makes her happy Smile

We ended up getting a bigger dummy, next size up, when DD started to keep dropping it out of her mouth all the time. I think the teat on the newborn was too short so she couldn't keep a hold of it. She took the bigger one fine thought, I think she was just relieved to be able to keep it in her mouth!

My DD 3.4yrs and DS2 14 months (can't remember as far back for DS1 (13yrs) both had a mixture of all dummies... and they got thrown when old or split and new ones were bought in age they were/are at the time.
