7mo falling asleep with a bottle - HELP

My 7mo DS has fallen asleep with his bottle since birth, am now in the really terrible habit of putting him in his cot with the bottle to fall asleep, DD1 and DD2 always had dummies, so no problems, if they woke up, I'd give them the dummy back but now he doesn't want the bottle so 7months along the line, have no idea how to settle him. He will fall asleep at 7pm with bottle then wake at 10pm and grizzle - not cry - until 11.30/12am every night!!! Please don't think I'm thick, tested definitely, but not thick.

When I stopped breastfeeding to sleep, I changed round the order of things at bedtime so milk was before bathtime - then DP did a story and cuddled/rocked him to sleep. There was crying at first but he soon get the hang of falling asleep without milk.

I wouldnt give him his bottle in his cot hold as a newborn with his bottles and give him his last one downstairs with the lights off i give my baby girl her last one at night with the lights of but the tv on and then she says nite to the household when she drank her fill i place her in her cot cover her up its around 7.30 and she sleeps till 7.00am sometimes she will cry but i just leave her to it and she difts off no more than 10 mins later. She doesnt have a dummy or any form of comforter but thats the way i wanted it.
She is 10 months now she went through a pharse of waking EVERY night when she was about 7 months after sleeping through so well . she woke up at midnight screaming the first night i gave in and gave her a bottle but then she kept doin it. So i thought not a chance lol the next night she woke i went into her picked her up calmed her down with a cuddle placed her back into bed covered her up and said nite nite and walked back out i did this 3 times then she fell asleep then i had no more night calls :)

Once he has his teeth through you'll need to brush his teeth between bottle and bed as well - milk is very sugary.

Thanks rachie2011 think I'm going to have to take a deep breath and just go for it, so tired though, haven't got the mental energy atm. Tonight is the night I think, let him grizzle it out with no bottle

Why no dummy for DS hun, just wondering as you said your DD's had them?

Also, a dummy was our last resort to get our DD off her night comfort feeds (I resisted the dummy till she was 1 then couldnt handle the sleeplessness anymore?!)

He just never liked them, he'll play with it if I give it to him but never just suck on it, as soon as he wakes now he grizzles and as soon as I go into him he turns over and jumps onto all fours like a tiger ready to pounce. I don't play with him or talk to him, just try and offer him the bottle then he'll cry even more and swish his head side to side, don't know what to do anymore.
