soft Bath Towel?

Hello, I am about to give birth any day now, and have just a few last minute things to sort out!
One being a good towel to dry baby. My issue is, we do not own a dryer, only a washing machine, so when I wash and line-dry our bath towels, they never end up really soft. I can't imagine using a scratchy towel like this to dry the Baby after a bath.
We have tried everything in our washing machine (fabric softener, etc) but nothing helps. Does anyone have any suggestions? If I buy a super expensive, quality soft towel, do you think it would line-dry soft after the washes?
Thanks!

We got one of those Cuddledry towels. It's made from Organic bamboo rather than cotton and does seem to stay softer than an ordinary towel no matter how it's dried. They are quite expensive though.

On the plus side, it does help with the whole towel/baby/one set of hands thing when doing bathtime :)

They're here by the way. I'm sure I got an e-mail promising 15% off this morning but I deleted it. I could ask the cuddle dry lady on Twitter for the code if you wanted?

My friend sent me a gift set from the nursery window when I was pregnant with DS2 and this towel was one of the items in there and it is so lovely and soft even after washing and drying on line... It's expensive though!

I agree with Blathers, Cuddledry are fantastic! Not only are they soft, but they stop the baby getting cold after getting out of the bath. Our DS used to wee in his towel every evening after his bath, but since we've used Cuddledry he hasn't done it once! They're also really handy if you're bathing the baby on your own and haven't got anyone to hand you a towel...I thoroughly recommend them.

I think it's because they're double layered so tye stay warmed even when wet - and they have the attached hood too to keep the baby's head warm.

tye? I meant 'they' sorry.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm going to look into the Cuddledry towels... sounds great!
