Fed up with paying for drynites or underjams in largest size for them to leak all the time!

Ds2 due soon so have been looking into cloth nappies and had advice from nappy lady. DS is tall for age, unsurprisingly as dh and I are both 6ft 2. He's about 1.2m tall and approx 55lbs so not overly chunky but puts him on cusp of size for motherease bedwetter.

Basically umming between bedwetter or minky yoyo. I have terries and boosters for stuffing. Slightly concerned about drying time and fit with the motherease but not sure what comparable amount of stuffing we'd need in yoyo for absorbancy. DS is a big drinker esp in warm weather and getting fed up of leaks all the time!

Can try to get measurements in a bit tho motherease don't seem to offer size measurements, just weight. Fairly sure he'll be a xl in yoyo tho.

Need them to be non fussy for DS to put on as he'll no doubt baulk at them to start with..

Should add, we have a tumble drier but only one heat setting.

DS is 5 end of May so we could potentially have 2 more years of needing them b4 a gp would get involved. Tho if he miraculously became dry in 2 months time we could still keep them for DS2.

my ds2 whos 4.4 gets nappy from the incontinace place does he have any problems

We have bedwetters, they are bulky, they are obvious nappies. I'd be surprised if he'd wear them if he's very used to paper nappies, more likely to shriek "It's too babyish!"

There is a disabled products company (Upsey daisy) that produces something for incontinence more like padded Lycra cycle shorts for kids, AND they are cheaper than the Bedwetter. Not as absorbent, though, maybe, so depends what you need.

We used the cheapest tesco nappy pants until ds was 8 and never had any leaks and usually got them on offer, the other ones we used were pampers pants size 6+ (i Think) and we always got them in boots when they were on offer, or boots own. We never used pj pants or dry nites.

ilove thx for response.
No problems other than just not ready for being dry at night, he simply doesn't wake up, we tried last night sending him to bed without a nappy (gave him the choice) but the bed was soaked by the time we went to bed despite him going to toilet before going to bed.
Assume it's just a case of waiting for that hormone to kick in...

How much do the incontinance ones cost? Like idea of trying cloth tho as can save them for ds2 and maybe if he feels the wet it might help he wake up,,, tho he would probably have happily slept in the wet patch last night... :/

He does get night terrors (usually term time it seems) and what with DS2 on the way I don't want to push the matter with him to not wet the bed. Guess it'll just happens when it happens..

lljkk will take a look at upsy daisy, thx. I'm thinking we need absorbant++. :/
Agree that he might refuse the bedwetters hence thinking yoyo, just worried we'll still get leaks all the time. It's lucky it's summer and i'm on mat leave to keep up with the washing!

Danthe4th do you mean the value ones? We 'upgraded' to underjams/drynites because the biggest size in pampers were just too small and hence leaked.

i get them free once a month speak to your hv you may get some for free

I disliked Bedwetters so much I got rid of them long before DS was ready to stop using them and put him in Pull-Ups. Bedwetters worked pretty well, they were just ugly, looked uncomfortable and stupid, like balloons, and took a lifetime to dry. Just discovered SuperUndies and they are a really great.

hmm, thanks swampster, will think about those, they do look better...
What are they like to wash, or more importantly dry?

I've not had them long, so far so good. I think they dry more quickly than Bedwetters - there's a fair bit of fleece and microfibre in them.
