Stinky nappies- washing advice?

Hi all, we use a mixture of Itti Bitti SIOs and Lollipop microfleece sized with tots bots or nature babies wraps. While DD does not smell at all in the Ittis, we can now not even use the Lollipops/wraps, as after the first wee she smells really strongly of UTI! I really need to get them back into circulation. I normally wash with a teeny bit of persil non-bio, a bit of mio sansitiser and some white vinegar. I never wash particulalry hot as worried about the wraps/Itti outers - could that be it. Can't imagine it's a soap build up as hardly use any. Any tips?

The general advice seems to be to do a strip wash, which wouldn't hurt even if soap build up wasn't the problem.

DS's nappies (Bumgenius) got a bit smelly and I solved it by introducing a short cold wash / rinse (no powder) before usual wash.

Apparently this rinses the wee out before the hotter wash can 'cook' it into the nappy fabric.

Thanks for the advice. I did an empty wash at 95 deg with soda crystals today (as discussed on another thread) to really make sure the machine is clean. I have now started a strip wash system as outlined on Cloth Nappy Tree - so will see how it goes. Thanks for helping.

LFP - I nearly always do a rinse cycle before washing with detergent, as I dry pail and DD's poo is not the neatest! It seems to have lost it's efficacy at keeping smells at bay for us now though!

I always do a cold rinse before washing my nappies as the cold water rises out wee and hot water locks the smell in lol. After a cold rinse il wash on 60 and do 2 extra rises at the end to get rid of soap. If this doesnt work a one off strip hot wash wont harm. Microfibre seems to be the worse ones for us

A maintainence wash on your machine as mentioned above may help too, wash empty on hottest setting you have, i use citric acid or vinegar in mine.
