My ds(8) is still wetting himself on a regular basis during the day, (he is completely dry at night) sometimes he says he didn't get there in time, other times he says it was because he was laughing, other times he gives no reason 'I just did' I have tried the softly softly approach, the you'll get called names at school approach and the getting annoyed approach but nothing seems to be working please please help I'm at the end of my tether with it all

Is it happening at school or home, or both? Could there be any other issues - anxiety about anything? DS2 is 7 and has been through a few phases of this lately, mostly happening at school when he was worried about an assemby that was coming up. Sometimes it happens at home too when he gets really engrossed in something. I'm constantly reminding him. I read somewhere that if they don't drink enough that can make it worse (sounds kind of illogical but apparently if they drink a lot they will obviously need to go more and then "retrain" their brain/bladder to recognise the signs) My DS certainly doesn't drink much so I'm trying to encourage him to drink more. Other than that, star charts and positive rewards have helped. Hope others have more suggestions as I'd be interested too!! Smile

Does he have any other gross motor skill problems, OP? Running, cycling, climbing, etc.?

lljkk, what is the link with motor skill problems?

I was thinking of a girl I vaguely know, had problems wetting in the day but dry at night. She had a slew of other minor physical problems, all adding up to DAMP.

That is very interesting lljkk, will read the link further. DS2 has just been diagnosed with mild aspergers, and is not v.coordinated. Has always been dry at night, right from being potty trained.

Read ERIC's Daytime wetting leaflet - and also try calling the ERIC helpline on 0845 370 8008 as they have lots of helpful information and can help support you. Best of luck.....
