When is it time to sort yourself out before you become Waynetta Slob

I have a 3 months old baby and we are now kind of settled in a nice routine, but, surprise surprise, he's still hard work and needs full attention.
The problem is my home, it's really untidy and I am behind with cleaning big time! Not to mention half finished jobs and paperworks lying around the house for which not even a cleaner would do (cannot afford one any way )

So this is something we never discussed at antenatal classes and would like to hear from all you with older kids:
When do you start being Waynetta Slob and stop being a poor new mum who's got too much on her hands to think about tiding up?

Heh heh met perfect pants from next door yesterday when I looked very smart and she looked awful. I felt very happy!

visited another mother-of-2 on friday...both of us spontaneously used phrase 'tidy house' as term of abuse/puzzlement

well... posting now as I have been ironing (avoided pillow cases and muslim squares , making up bottles and generally tidied up the house for the last couple of hours so tomorrow morning I feel I can start the week well, ds has been sleeping since 7PM!!!

DH offered to take ds out today and give me a rest, but then people came around and we all stayed home: did not even pretend I was tidying up as if people come unannounced 3 months after ds birth they can expect to find mayem in my opinion... above all on a Sunday morning.

Sorry about the rant, but I am feeling better now.
I am off to bed now hoping ds won't wake up at 5 AM as he's done a couple of days ago...

Happyspider, with a 3 month old you are still well and truly in the 'just had a baby' excuse camp (and will be for about another 9 months or so in my view!). Enjoy your gorgeous babe while he is tiny; you've got the rest of your life to have a spotless house. And life's too short to iron a pillowcase/baby vest/muslin/well, most things really!
