19mo won't eat or drink, WWYD?

19mo DS has got some sort of bug - snotty nose, hacking cough, an up and down temperature. He's completely off his food which just isn't him, he loves food. He had a bowl of cereal Wednesday morning which he chucked up and since then all I've managed to get in him is half a Twix and one Little Stars yoghurt and that's it. He had a half bowl of cereal this morning which he really enjoyed, but chucked it up and hasn't eaten anything else all day. I'm not too worried about the eating, concerned but not worried, I know it's normal for them to go of their food.

What's worrying me is that he's now off his drinks too. I've tried water, milk, all different flavours and strengths of juice, Fruit Shoot, smoothies, milkshake, and even milky tea. I've offered sippy cups, nuby cups, a baby bottle, and a cup with a straw, I even tried using an oral syringe to see if he would take it that way. Nada. I tried ice pops and jelly. No. He's had maybe two mouthfuls all day and that's it, I've had one wet nappy which couldn't even fairly be called wet, more slightly damp whereas they're usually sodden.

I'm planning to take him to the out of hours doctor if he hasn't drank anything by his bedtime but they always make you feel like you're worried over nothing, "oh he's fine, just offer him half as much twice as often" and that you're wasting their time, and DS is always so cheerful even when he is ill - right now he's got full on droopy eyes, that "can't be bothered" expression, but he's giggling and singing half-heartedly at the TV - so they think because he's cheerful he's okay and I'm making something over nothing. WWYD to get the out of hours doctor to realise that he's not fine? And any advice about how little liquid is too little?

Possibly sickening for chicken pox would be my guess- my son was like this easily for about 2 weeks. The spikes of temperature were what he had . He's covered in it and we were expecting it because he had mixed with children at nursery. Apparently really common at this time of year. But to be sure always get a hcp opinion

I think chickenpox is doing the rounds at the minute so quite possibly. DH bought some little cartons of juice from Asda and he drank one of those followed by a cup of milk and a few spoonfuls of porridge when we got home, hopefully it's the start of him getting his hunger and thirst back.
