10-month-old has forgotten how to sleep in buggy

I know I should be grateful that my 10 mo DS sleeps in his cot, and shouldn't complain, BUT I'm gutted that he seems to have forgotten that he can sleep in his buggy too! Means I have to rush back home for naps or risk meltdown. Makes life a bit restrictive. Any tips?

How rigid is your routine? My ds stopped just dosing off in the buggy at around the same age but we just relaxed his napping routine. If I was out he just didn't nap, and he'd either nap when we got home or he would eventually drop off in the buggy when he got really really tired.
I have to admit my ds was quite an easy baby though so possibly not the most helpful post.

It is helpful, at least knowing that it isn't that unusual! Routine is not too rigid, though DS tends to become tired at the same time each day, and needs his sleep gets dark circles around the eyes very quickly. But if he's in the buggy, he ends up screaming with overtiredness and then I always end up carrying him home in one hand while pushing the buggy in the other not ideal (maybe I shouldn't pick him up, but am a coward when it comes to letting him cry...!)

My DD never falls asleep in her buggy any more. It took us ages trying to get her to sleep well i her cot and now it is the only place she will sleep (not complaining as this is much preferred over having to take her out in the buggy to get her to sleep!). She'll drop off in the car if she is really tired but car journeys aren't generally long enough for her to get her proper amount of sleep. Like your Ds she tends to just start to cry from overtiredness in her buggy rather than fall asleep. Very restrictive. Basically I have an hour and a half window and then we have to head home and put her down in her cot.

Sorry, can't offer much advice but will be watching this thread as i would like to sort this out with DD too. Hope someone comes along to help you soon :)

My DS is the same age and not keen on sleeping in the buggy either. But he only has one nap a day now (12pm ish). So he always sleeps in his cot these days as we're at home for lunch anyway.
Once your DS is down to one nap (usually about 12 months)then you will probably just let him sleep at home anyway so that he has a good sleep(unless out for the day of course).

Well I thought it would be a good idea to gently get him used to it by repetition. Took him for a walk at naptime round a quiet park nearby...he seemed to be getting a bit dozy, but as soon as I took a look at him and caught his eye he started crying, and then wouldn't settle for ages. So off we went back home. Am going to try the same when the weather is better, after he's had a good lunch, and the heat helps to make him sleepy in a peaceful sort of way. If I make a breakthrough, breadandhoney I'll let you know!
Mumcah, being realistic, I think I'll have to wait until he's down to one nap, like your DS, and it gets easier all round....
