tummy aches

Not sure if this is a coincidence or not but since dd started school in January, I have noticed her bowel habits have changed.

Dd (5) regularly has her bowels opened every day, usually around 6 pm after school, she is like clockwork. Now, I am fully aware that faeces are not supposed to smell of roses Grin, however dds are becoming quite offensive. After she has had her bowels opened, she complains of tummy ache, not before. This has been going on for quite a while now, and I am starting to wonder whether further investigation is needed with regards to these tummy aches. Any experiences/advice would be appreciated.

Is she holding it all in until after school so she has lots of trapped wind from it do you think?

Has her diet changed at all? Is she drinking less fluid at school and this is causing some issues as well?

Thanks for your reply.

If she doesn't get to the toilet within a reasonable amount of time, she will go in her pants. She just can't hold it in for very long.

With regards to her diet, she has school dinners everyday, she has always had a varied diet.

She takes a water bottle to school and they are encouraged to drink from it throughout the day.

I think a visit to the GP would be a plan, it maybe her diet needs jigging; a little less fibre or more. But I'd definitely go and chat to the GP about it. As I can't see why things have changed so much.
