Used a mix of terries, motherease and disposables on my DS for about a year whilst on mat leave. Ex refused to use reusables.

Fast forward a few years another baby onway. New DP would is willing to give it a go. Mainly from a money motivated viewpoint.

Have won a bundle if used onelife birth to potty ones.

Has anyone used these from birth?

Not from birth no. Last time I used prefolds ( learning curve eh?) This time I'm taking muslins to hospital. I have bought some Motherease sandies though. Really I'm just marking space because I'm curious. My son was huge and I don't think I'd have liked the fit. I do have some onelife and Motherease one size for later though.

I used Onelife from 4weeks. DS was about 12lb at that point and almost too big for the first size already.

I loved them, never had any problems with them, and we used them all the way up to potty training at 2.5. They've washed and worn wonderfully, always fitted nicely and almost never leaked (prob only about 3 or 4 times in 2.5 years!)

hope that helps :)

Thank you.

I have tons of muslins. How do they work?

Em- do you mind me asking what your dc birth weight was please?

He was 8lb11oz.
He'd have fitted them nicely from birth but I wasn't well enough to contemplate them for a couple of weeks. As soon as I made the swap I could never have gone back :)

Thank you. We are buying a couple of packs of disposables for early days but want to start on reusables asap so they become the norm.

How did you find the wraps?

OP posts:
Em3978 · 19/03/2011 21:31

The wraps were just as good as the terries, nice and adjustable over legs and tummy and again, no leaks :) We also found we could use the same wrap for a day or two (or even 3 as he got bigger) to cut down on washing.

We used disposables overnight as it just kept him drier and asleep longer.

Good luck :)

onadietcokebreak · 19/03/2011 21:36

Thank you. Sounds like i have made a good choice.

I think I may do a disposable at night too!

Have got some motherease nappies and wraps too somewhere from DS.

Darn it I tried selling my onelife birth to potty pack today! Shame you've already got some :o

I liked them, really soft and super-adjustable thanks to all the poppers! I did find they leaked at night but other brands did that too - DD was a heavy sleeper so we used disposables at night once she was sleeping through.

onadietcokebreak · 19/03/2011 21:42

I got a hamper for £30 off eBay. Local collection 22 nappies boosters wraps buckets hamper. Really pleased with the price. Not collected yet though.

Glad you found them good Freudian. Sounds like disposables ate rye way forward for an good night.

Did either of you take them on holiday?

OP posts:
Em3978 · 19/03/2011 21:53

We tried, but even with a washing machine available it jsut didn't work for us and we went back to disposables on holiday. Killed me every time, but hey, it was only a week or so at a time :)

notthewowy · 20/03/2011 15:39

Muslins? Well I plan on using them as I would terry squares, they're just less bulky (and very cheap, got em from ebay for a couple of quid.)

onadietcokebreak · 21/03/2011 15:25

Ideal. Will try muslins for first few weeks before I move on to one life!
