have just gone back to uni after time off having ds3. am part way thru 2nd year and he is 17 months. i was so excited but everything has gone pear shaped. we are still living in a miserable flea pit where i have no space to work. the only room i can be alone is the bathroom and there is noise everywhere so i cant work at home. i hate staying at uni too long because ds3 doesnt like nursery. if i stay all i am thinking about is him. but i dont know what to do if i leave. want to finish but dont know if theres any point, if i cant do the work i will fail anyway.

My friend had all 3 of hers during her degree and kept taking years out here and there.

She finally finished and so I presume the uni was fine about it. Usually they are really helpful about mature students' circumstances.

I would try and finish it when you can. Everything seems to need a degree these days and there are times when I wish I had some intellectual challenge as a break from childcare!

Good luck with it all . I'm sure the uni will be really helpful.
