Ebay removing used cloth nappies NOW

Just so anyone planning on listing nappies on ebay is aware...

technically used nappies are NOT allowed to be sold on ebay, but most people get round by saying new and describing in auction that they are used.

am currently bidding on a few and ebay have emailed me saying they have removed the listings as they wernt allowed on ebay.

if they remove your lisitng they still charge you the lisiting fee...

so if planning on selling on ebay, they are "on the case" at the moment so i suggest holding off until it dies down again

i listed used nappies about 18 months ago and ebay removed the listing but i emailed them insisting that they refund me my fee as they accepted the listing (and payment) despite knowing it was against their terms and conditions. therefore they knowingly took my money with no intention of allowing me to sell the item. they did refund my fee.

That's been the case for ages. I tried to sell some 4 years ago and they were removed for being used. Use a different site such as preloved or freeads to sell them would be my advice.

ChippingInMistressSteamMop · 16/03/2011 11:50

Why can't you sell them? Surely it's up to the buyer if they want to buy used nappies?

What else are they 'policing' that's not illegal?

(used knickers I can understand, but used nappies??)

Chipping, they count preloved nappies as used underwear! Shock

moogalicious · 16/03/2011 11:58

It's been this way for ages. I sold mine on a bidding website purely for cloth nappies. Will try and link

moogalicious · 16/03/2011 11:59

www.usednappies.co.uk/

KnitterNotTwitter · 16/03/2011 12:02

Usednappies.co.uk is great - lots more choice than ebay because lots of people don't bother to try and list on ebay as used nappies are banned....

I've had trouble with ebay trying to buy antique truncheons for my DH... Auctions regularly get removed as they're sometimes classed as weapons!

PurveyorOfWoo · 16/03/2011 12:04

Fancy that, truncheons being classes as weapons - who'd a thunk it Confused

KnitterNotTwitter · 16/03/2011 12:08

I know - mind you I don't fancy being hit over the head by one.... But surely no more dangerous than a rounders bat/big stick which ebay do sell..

Apologies for going off topic... :)

swampster - wrf? I can'r see many men getting off over a used nappy!!

Bramshott · 16/03/2011 13:25

So you are allowed to sell swimsuits, as long as you don't give any "indication that the item was worn as underwear" Confused.

Pingpong · 16/03/2011 19:21

I find this site good for buying and selling second hand nappies. It is fast moving and there are no fees for selling. Most sellers ask you to cover paypal fees.

for the love of all things holy.... a babies nappy... what the hell next? Bottles because they replicate a womans nipple??
