Light weight car seat and high pram

hi there
my husband has a disability making carrying large weights tricky. Do you recommend any light weight baby car seats? Also do you recommend any prams that are higher (i.e. less distance to lift the baby from)?
Any tips welcome!

I don't think any of the seats are lighter than others. But you don't have to lift them in and out - so I'd go for that - just lift the baby instead. Your dh might want to get a pouch sling so that he can pop the baby in that so they aren't in his arms when he's going in and out of places.

The Stokke is very high up - best thing is to go to one of the really big retailers and play with them all to see which suits him best. Some can be heavy/awkward to get in and out of the car so he'll need to try that too

I can't do heavy weights and we had a lie flat Jane Matrix for the car which we left strapped in and then put DS (1 and then 2) into the Stokke Xplory pram which I can't recommend highly enough. If you live any where near north Oxfordshire I'd be happy to show you ours!

My physio recommended the Xplory, and there might be things that you can get help with if you ask. Check with your Midwife for information on where she can refer you both.

Good luck and congratulations.

I can't carry heavy stuff so when we had my son we got a seat for each car and left them in the car
I lived with my sling ( close baby ) to help with carrying my son about - good thing as for somebody who can't carry heavy stuff I had a monster of a child

have a go with the prams , I actually found my local independent nursery supplier was invaluably helpful - I ended up with a bugaboo bee as it was easy to manoeuvre, not to heavy, the clips weren't too fiddly, it fitted in my yaris and was sturdy enough to support my weight when I needed to lean on it but I tried loads before I settled on it - I think I would have gone for the stokee if i'd seen it (i think it was relatively new at that point)
