Hi, my brain is beginning to fry.
I have been interested in teacher training for years but stupidly allowed my X to talk me out of it ("you'll be no good Change" "you need to be young to go into teaching" - this was part of a general "you are a bit crap, Change, think yourself lucky you have got me" theme of his
- we are getting divorced thank god

After basically piddling around with unqualified teaching jobs and other low-paid work after my degree, I think the time has come to actually get a qualification and get a proper career and some financial stability. Past employers and students have said I was good at teaching and I really enjoyed it.
Here's the bit that confuses me. As a lone parent with youngest DC currently 3, would I be able to claim income support and CTC while studying? I would most likely be looking to start a PGCE when she starts school (September 2012) because I have virtually no unpaid childcare plus I will need to get some voluntary experience under my belt. If I can, then it is just about do-able but I am unclear whether you are allowed to study full-time if you are on IS.
I am thinking of Primary, though some of the threads on here make me think
