Hang them outside on the line and the sun will bleach it out (even winter sun)

I use biological powder and have no problems with stains. I personally don't believe that bio causes skin irritation either. I wash DD's nappies in it as well and haven't had any problems.

The sun does bleach some of it out but I ended up binning (well, rag recycling) a lot of baby clothes in the end. Banana, carrot, sweet potato and spag bol were the worst.

Soak or pre-wash with bio-tex. That or a quick rub with washing up liquid gets out most food stains.

proudmumof1 · 05/03/2011 18:45

yes thats what iv just had to do myself meglet, after going through all her baby clothes, and spag bol is an absolute nightmare! lol

Soak in a soda crystal solution. That gets out most things (though not banana stains from my DS's white top - at 3 years old you'd think he'd be past the banana stain stage, but no Grin)

Seona1973 · 05/03/2011 18:49

I also treat with washing up liquid - wet the stain, rub the washing up liquid into it and rinse. DeSolv-It stain remover spray also helps too (from the supermarket)

Seona1973 · 05/03/2011 18:51

de-solv-it

i used vanish spray for ages and its not great- then got the more expensive ariel stain remover and its brilliant. just srpay on leave a while and wash.

FluteyBoots · 05/03/2011 19:43

I use a spoonful of napisan in with the powder. It's great for getting stains out. For really messy stuff I use one of the rubber tommee tippee bibs over the regular bib. They catch all the bits as well!

ChunkyPickle · 05/03/2011 19:47

Boil in oxyclean (scoop in a big pan) - sounds brutal, but it's the only thing that's got the banana and milk stains out of my messy eater's white babygrows.

pippop1 · 05/03/2011 19:53

I use dishwasher (machine) fluid in very hot water and soak garment. It is specifically designed to remove food and really works well.

proudmumof1 · 05/03/2011 21:05

wow there are so many things i can try out! thanks every1 and thats a very good idea with the bibs fluteyboots!
