My mother's birthday is coming up in just over two weeks. She died 8 years ago and I aways try and do something nice on her birthday to celebrate and make the day easier.

My mother LOVED children and would have adored my DH so this year I would like to do something really fun for him. He loves soft play etc.

My mum's birthday is a Wednesday so it is during the week.

Thanking you in advance. :-)

whereabouts in london? if you want something like softplay kidspace is a good big one, nice area for the younger ones, sensory room etc but is quite far out (romford and i think croydon?) also topsy turvy in brent cross is quite nice. apparently gambados v nice but i have not been
also london aquarium is quite nice or science museum have a basement thats fun for young children and hopefully not too packed out on a midweek
or corams fields, parks etc depending how nice weather is
london zoo could also be good (i've not been myself so cant say for definite)
or, slightly outside of london but i thought legoland was great even for young kids. altho my ds was just turned 2 when i took him so slightly older but it does have loads of nice things aside from the rides so it is accessible to the smaller ones.
or steam railway, theres one in ruislip with a beach and playground etc apparently. looks nice im hoping to go there in summer, although again not sure if 18 months little bit young. depends if he is bothered about trains

hope you have a really good day

Thank you very much Firawia and Izpie. Fantastic ideas each and every one of them. I want to do them all. And I will.

Thank you again.

The Science museum has a great play/sensory room, and the Gambado's in Chelsea is great.

Princess Diana childrens playground in Kensington gardens when the weather improves is fab, the massive sand pit and life size pirate ship are amazing! I rate the childhood museum in Bethnal Green too and various city farms (Mudchute, Hackney etc-) if you like the animal thing.

I too recommend the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green. Close to the tube. Good fun for DCs and grown ups. And a lovely cafe. And an indoor sandpit. And rocking horses. And gated off toddler play area. And if the weather holds, Victoria Park up the road for duck feeding and the fabulous Pavilion Cafe.
