Hi, my DD is sitting up well now and looks all slouchy and uncomfortable in her bouncy chair. What can you get now as a chair for a baby who can sit up, something she can be strapped into safely incase you need to go to the door, may watch TV in, but also non-slouchy and upright. TYIA

My childminder has ours now and loves it. You can adjust the feet to make it taller/shorter. Straps good for 6-8 month old baby. Yet will still seat a 3 yr old at table without straps. Don't bother buying highchair. This is all plastic - no stains, cracks to get food in. Fantastic buy. (I don't work for Fisher Price by the way).

Have had friends with bumbos but they don't last long. DC's like a table in front of them to draw, build bricks, eat etc. And it feels a bit safer to have a table holding them in.

Yes would agree, not to leave unsupervised in any chair whilst showering.

But more sturdy than a bumbo and safer than a tall high chair I would say.

aaargh... sod it, just going to leave her on the floor and cut down on the 15 mins 'getting dressed'
which for the record includes... lenses in, shower, using toilet, finding clothes, getting dressed, bowl of cereal, make up, brushing hair, doing teeth, also sorting coat and shoes and nappy bag and wrangling the papoose if we're going out. and the swimming stuff if we're going swimmming.

Sorry not had time to read all previous posts but I'm finding the basic Ikea high chair very useful as an emergency 'I've got to park her somewhere' type place. It's good because she's up higher so I can see her/chat eg while I'm washing in the bathroom, and to keep her occupied I've put a ribbon (tightly, not loose) across the tray to which various toys are attached - the ribbon is secured to the chair leg either side by velcro which keeps it taut. And of course she can be strapped in. Works a treat!

We have a Galt Activity Dino which provides head protection if they topple over & something to play with once there. Used to leave both DD's on the floor on a mat with that behind them. It's cute & fun to play with too.

We also have a Handysitt which we use at the table & push the chair with it on round the room so she can see what we're doing when say cooking - she's strapped in but she can still see what's going on.

No - get/borrow a travel cot and some sort of sit up chair to play/eat on. And you'll be fine.

get a playpen/travel cot!

You CAN'T leave a child in a chair when you're getting washed/dressed/etc.

Right -
Lenses, shower, getting dressed - while still in cot.

Make-up, hair, teeth etc let her free range around upstairs while you're getting ready.

Stuff sorted for going out, getting clothes ready - do the night before - will take much less time.

It's a nightmare, I remember what this is like, and you will get better at it :)

cereal.. what, you want to eat too?! :o How DARE YOU Grin
