Best booster to go with BumGenius

Hello,

We are going to use BumGenius v4, but want a booster to go with the insert.

In people's experience, which is the best/most absorbent booster to use?

I've read mixed reviews of LittleLamb bamboo ones. They do seem, however, much cheaper than the tots bots ones. Are TBs worth the extra money?

One day I'll have all this figured!

Oh, and how many boosters would you recommend getting?

The Tots Bots Easyfit boosters are great - they are £2.80 I think - 3 layers of silky fine-knit bamboo, very absorbent yet still slim enough. I don't know about the Little Lambs but normal terry bamboo is not as slim as the fabric that the Easyfits are made from.

Easy peasy hemp boosters are fab and fit really well underneath the BG inserts, very slim too so dont add too much to the nappy.

You can get them direct from Easy Peasy (google easy peasy nappies) for £2.25 each or 5 for £10. free P&P if you spend over £5 if I remember right.

I would get one per nappy, but depends how you dry. If you line / airer dry hemp takes a lot longer to dry than the microfibre so you may want a couple spare.

Ha, even better, they're based where I live Smile

Unless you have a heavy wetter you might not need any extra boosters other than the standard BG inserts until baby is quite old (sorry don't know how old your baby (or bump?) is). I didn't need to add extra boosters to my BG until DD1 got to about 1.5yrs. Maybe you could start with the standard BG and see how you go?

(Apologies if I'm teaching Grandma to suck eggs here and you have a heavy wetter and need extra boosters!)

Hi MaxiCosy Smile

Thanks for the tips - bump is currently 32 weeks old, so am planning in advance. I'm like a crazed woman at the moment, buying things left, right and centre!I just don't know what I need Confused.

At the moment, I have the newborn and standard inserts (the ones with poppers that you can change according to baby's size). Will both inserts together be too bulky, in people's experience?

My newborns only needed the smaller of the inserts in at first so not bulky at all, then they had just the big insert on its own and then eventually both together.

At the moment my 8 month old has both together and it is plenty and isn't too bulky on her (don't get me wrong though, it is a big bum, there are slimmer nappies out there but its not a problem at all).

My 2 year old has the big BG insert and either a Green Acre Designs Hemp Insert for when I need her to last for ages or an Easy Peasy microfibre insert for just normal wear.

The extra inserts are quite pricey so if you can rein in the pregnant-woman-must-buy-everything syndrome (i remember it well!) then hold off buying then until you need them and you know that the BG suit your baby and you're going to get on with them.

caringforpod- I think you might be getting ahead of yourself with boosters for BG. I have only just started needing them and DD will be 2 next month. They'll just take up space in the cupboard!

CaringForPod · 02/03/2011 16:45

Thanks both. I've come to that conclusion too! I'm just going to see what happens and should I need them, can collect boosters locally from easy peasy nappies. Good to know what's available in case I do need them though!

I always use the 2 microfibre inserts together, much older baby though. The Easy Peasy is a really good fit & can be squeezed in with both microfibre inserts too.

Nature baby's slimma stuffs are really slim and absorbent, they dry fast, too!
