I absolutely LOVE my tots bots and ME wraps, but for some reason the last 3 mornings, Jess has been SOAKED through in the morning - PJ's soaked, sleeping bag soaked, cot soaked..... WHY?!

He nappy is A LOT wetter than usual, and she is drinknig a lot more juice than she used to, but how can i stop the leaks?!

Im using a tots, a booster and a fleece liner - perhaps another booster?!

GRRRRRR.... more washing.... not what i need at 9 months pg!!!

maybe you could rry a microfiber cloth as a booster, they are supposed to be VERY absorbant?

No idea The only time we had nighttime leaks was when DH had put the wrap on too loose

What about a fleece wrap to aid the evaporation of the excess moisture or perhaps buy a bumble and stuff with extra boosters. I remember my ds1 was very wet in the mornings once he turned one and at the time I was using disposables so couldn't really adjust them. With ds2 I am planning to use my bumbles stuffed with the bimbles he had as a newborn. If anything gets through that I will be amazed! HTH.

We have had similar issues with similar equipment
During the day tho'. Very carefull exanination of the wraps showed that the elastic was on its way out around the legs. we have bought some tots popper wraps to replace them as DD can undo velcro now and things are better. The microfibre cloths work really well too.

I don't know how old Jess is, but she may need a bit more absorbency as she gets older and sleeps longer, perhaps with a night feed or two.
Our ds is currently 11 months and he goes to bed in a well-boosted nappy like a bumble, a stuffie a huggle or something hemp. Occasionally I use a tots with a tots three layer booster and on or two microfibre cloths.
We also use a wool wrap, which adds quite a bit of absorbency, you only need one, as it airs during the day and you only need to wash it occasionally.
It's a good option for night as it is more breathable than a PUL wrap, such as a Motherease airflow and is therefore healthier when worn for a long period, like overnight.
Try giving Jess only water later in the day, as the sugar in juice can actually make children drink more than they need. There is some research in this area, but I can't remember where.
I'm sure you'll crack this problem soon.

So how is she getting on Jessica's mummy? I hope bump didn't arrive early!

I gave up with cotton nappies at night after many nights of leaks and am on Pampers Babydry. Even then we sometimes wake up wet but it is rare now. I just couldn't be doing with all the washing!

maisiemog · 25/10/2005 12:22

Hi Anna, that's a shame, especially paying out for cloth and then having to pay out again for disps.
What nappies were you using at night?

I've also been springing leaks - currently putting ds (who's 6 months but pretty big) in a bumhugger with a toddle-ease over the top. Haven't had a leak with this - but do you think that this is excessive? He doesn't bend !
