Dd1 is making my ears bleed!

Good grief my dd1 (3.5) doesn't stop talking. EVER! Dh was just watching Wall-e with her and all I cam hear is 'why are they at the beach?' 'is it a girl robot or a boy robot?' 'why is it a girl robot?' 'why isn't it a boy robot?'.

'Why is it raining?' 'why can't I scooter?' 'why is it too far?' 'why is dd2 playing with her feet?' 'why does she like it?'

'Can you play octonauts with me? You be Kwazi and I'll be Pesto' 'why isn't he called Pesto?' 'why is is it Peso?' 'what type of bear is Shellington?' 'why is he a grizzly bear?' Why, why, WHY?!!!!

All caveats of I know I am fortunate she is talking, asking questions etc. but it is sooooo wearing. She doesn't stop from the minute she wakes up until the minute before she goes to sleep. And often in her sleep too.

I have instituted Quiet Time ranging from between 5 mins and half an hour, especially when I am driving. 'why aren't we moving?' 'why is the light red?' 'why isn't it yellow?' 'are we in 3 [3rd gear]?'.

Anyone else worn down and crave silence? Just for a little while? I'm really feeling is because dd2 doesn't sleep in the evenings so I have no child-free time.

DD is just the same (4 next month). Her mouth is going from waking til she finally sleeps.

It is very wearing isn't it.

The only solution I have found so far is Preschool, so that someone else gets the pleasure of her non stop stream of consciousness for part of the day Grin

I am sure she is bright too. But some days I wish I had a nice quiet dopey child instead.

Some of what she says is quite interesting or amusing, it's just hard to fight the urge to say something along the lines of that's lovely dear but please don't talk to me any more, just for a few minutes.

We have the same with DD1 (3). She just doesn't stop. If we watch tv we have the questions, if we listen to a story CD we have the questions, if we listen to a music CD we have the questions and even when she's sitting on the loo she starts saying "Let's talk about making stuff. How do you make ... [whatever catches her eye]?"

She really wears me out but I love preschool days.Grin

My ds (6) is the same. If it is not questions it is detailed descriptions of the game he has just made up in his head or explanations of the complicated picture he has just thrust under my nose.
I try really hard to respond genuinely but he does ask why (another question) I say, "oh wow!" and "oh right!" so much! Blush

Ds was the same, he's 11 now and it's starting to slow down and the phrase 'ooh I'm not sure have a look online or ask your teacher' helps!

You do learn how to zone it out and answer occasionally!
