please would someone recommend to me a good toy storage system. DP likes a tidy house, but DS is only 1 and starting to take over! Grin

We have the Trofast stuff from Ikea, it is great!

I second trofast. We have some downstairs and more upstairs. We've got a mix of bins and shelves now they are older.

Another vote for Trofast. We now have 2 x the step looking one and a 3 column one that is about waist height for DS1 - perfect for him to stand and play at.

All the toys & books go in them (just about) and it's great to have seperate bins for lego / cars / train track / etc - helps with getting DS1 to tidy up (sort of).

Also they are very sturdy so the DS's can climb / sit on them.

no don't get a trofast - just get a bog standard four tier pine shelving unit then add your own plastic boxes.

you can re-use after in so many ways, trofast is pants

Trofast isn't pants, for all the reasons given plus more! It's not extortionate, is solid so it won't fall apart, and the corners aren't sharp. Everything is made to fit, so there's no effort searching for separate shelfing units and crates. The crates come in lots of colours, as do the units themselves (white plus different wood-effect finishes) so will fit in with most decor. We have one in ds1's room and one in the understair cupboard

Another vote for Trofast here. We have a 'Toy wall' of units alone one wall of the dining room.
Great place to store all the toys neatly and group toys together. We have a train tray, soft toy box, instruments tray etc. and no more searching for small missing bits in the bottom of a big toybox.
DD's are 2.5 and 9mths with a horrendous amount of toys between them! Since having the units DD1 has learnt that we have 1 or 2 trays out at a time instead of everything which is great.

Theres a pic of our units on my profile.. however since xmas theres ALOT more toys!!

I have Trofast in my dressing room as well as we have sloping ceilings - I love it! Also, you can get different colour drawers to colour code for different children. Makes them more responsible for their own things.
