My daughter is 7months old and has baby cereal and milk for her breakfast and a jar and water for her dinner. She then has 3 7oz bottles after that. I'm a little confused as introducing her tea whether I should drop a bottle or start her on her tea and then still give her two bottles after :S Also she's still only on stage 1 jar food and I'm not sure when I should give her stage 2! Any help would be appreciated! Looked all over websites and all advice seems to be different! Sorry for essay!

at that age you can start her on finger foods as well, toast, bananas, veg etc, but milk should be her main nutrition till she's 1. There is a weaning section of mumsnet so if you have a look on there there shouldbe plenty of advice :)

You can start reducing milk feeds at 7 months. My ds is breastfed so he just doesnt ask for it as much.

You could give her a bottle before dinner and see how she feels after as to whether or not to give her more milk.

Agree with cos giving her finger foods is a good idea, my ds loves rice cakes with philidelphia on, toast strips, grated cheese and porridge fingers to name a few!

the stage 2 jars are from 7 months and are still very smooth. The puree types that come in squeezy pouches are great for introducing lots of flavours. I would personally go with dinner rather than milk first and then bottle / feed before bed but there is no one right way to do it. Just try giving her little bits of this and that and see how she gets on.

you can give yoghurts too to make up for less milk that you're giving her Wink

Introduce her to lots of tastes too at this early stage.

Just offer her bits and see how she takes to them - ds is 6 months but he's taken to finger food from the start, also we give him very lumpy food, when we give him jars they're the ones from 10 months on, just because he seemed happy with them and didn't want a lump-phobic baby!

They all move forwards in their own time, don't worry too much.

Sorry can't help with bottles - ds is breast fed, so like earlier poster said, he just asks for it less.
