Not sure if I've posted in the right place.

BIL has told dh that he expects ds to be a pageboy at his wedding. Dd who will be almost 5 is a bridesmaid or flower girl.

Myself and dh both think that ds will be too young at 2.6. Also if he is a pageboy will he be expected to sit at the head table or could we ask if he can sit with me. Dh is the best man btw.

Bit weird that he 'expects' your DS to be a pageboy rather than asking you whether he would like to be one!

My DS's were page boys twice for both SIL's a year or so ago at ages 4 and 2.5 yo
All they did was wear a fancy outfit and be in the photos tbh, there was no speacial seating or special jobs as they were just too little. I'm sure it will just be for the pics and your DS will be able to sit wherever he will feel most comfortable.

Thanks for that Tallulah. Will the same apply to dd sitting wherever she feels comfortable.

Neither myself or the dc's have been asked if they want to be bridesmaid/pageboy. I'm sure dd will love it though.

I think at every wedding I've been to little bridesmaids and page boys have sat with their parents, or with the parent who is not on the top table if one is. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Your son will look cute and everyone will coo over him. Just make sure that the couple realise that at 2 and a half he might not walk down the aisle and might just have to sit on your lap through the service. My niece was a bridesmaid at 2 and a half. She was too excited to nap on the day and so was tired and cross before the service, so just slept on her mum's lap throughout the wedding. I personally wouldn't have such a young child in a 'role' at a wedding, but if they want to that's up to them as long as they understand he can't be guaranteed to do exactly what they might want.

Ds was page boy a few weeks ago at 2.7yrs. He carried the rings-tied very tightly to a cushion. Ds sat on a 'normal' table and that was about it for his official duty's. It was very cute seeing him and dp (best man) in matching suits though

DS is going to be a pageboy at about 20 months. No doubt he will look cute but that's about all I can guarantee! My sis doesn't seem to mind. he may run down the aisle, he may sit down and refuse to move, he may hide, or flirt with the crowd. I think if you ask kids that young, you have to be prepared for this. So long as your BIL is then fine.
