DS did. I found that showing him pictures of himself on the computer calmed him down.

biscuit + a story or cbeebies, or, if I don't think she's slept long enough & that's why she's woken up crying I will try to cuddle her back to sleep for a bit.

And I make sure she doesn't nap on an empty stomach

We encouraged DS to stop having naps when he was just over two because of the rage when he woke up. Awful. I used to leave him alone near a bit of fruit and he'd slowly come round and eat it. It sometimes worked.

Oh I remember that stage - awful! You just ride it out and wait for the phase to be over. Food, drink and Cbeebies is a good plan.

Also, it might be a sign that DC is getting ready to drop the nap.

Oh ds1 is the worst for this. He's like me. No-one speak to me for at least half hour.

So when ds1 wakes up, I make sure there's a drink and snack on the coffee table and leave him to it.

Mine used to wake up in FOUL moods from their sleep (but then so do I!) the only thing to bring them round, was food, and quickly!!

DD1 does this if she's fallen asleep in the pushchair or car - I think maybe it's the effect of waking up somewhere unfamiliar.

I leave her to it til she calms down a bit, then offer cuddles or milk and a biscuit.

Food, drink, Cbeebies, play trucks in the hallway.

This is happening a lot at the moment because DS would like to sleep two hours but I won't let him have more than an hour or so or he's up all night.
