i should go looking for baby seat instructions but quicker to ask here

i have had a brain block, i cannot remember what age we turned dd around from rear facing in her car seat. we have the car seats that convert from newborn to 32kg booster seats

That's alright nailpolish. I'm a worrier anyway - I inherited it from my mum.

Lol. It'll be nice to have an active child. I'm allergic to exercise.

I wish!! Only just got back to the diet when I went back to work 2 months ago. I'm hoping to fit back into my old clothes by Christmas. I've lost a stone since dd was born - one more to go.

i had my jeans from before dd. they fitted me after i had her. they swam on me before ds. gave up a couple of weeks ago. bought some new jeans!!!! next size up.....

I had to buy new clothes 2 sizes bigger than I was before dd. They're slowly getting looser. I don't think I'll be as small as before but I'm determined to try!

thats all we can do........try try try.... but as friends (who havent had chidren) say.. we've had kids.... i guess in retrospect your bubba is 6m, mine 5m. We cant expect too many miracles. i think with dd it took me a year to regain initial weight. mind you i was training quite hard at gym prior to pregnancy. i weighed 65. after birth and weight loss no more training i went to 57 kg. but for me was too skinny.

I remember someone saying that the 'baby' weight you haven't lost before the next one comes along can't be excused as baby weight any more. I don't want to get into the trap of increasing my pre-baby weight with each baby. I've told dh I want at least 4 kids so I think I've got to be quite strict

gravity · 14/10/2005 16:05

fair call.

but remember its only early days so far x

Yeah, I'll try to be realistic. Not planning the next one for a couple years anyway.

gravity · 14/10/2005 17:49

we weren't planning for a couple of years either, mind you we were not taking any precautions, so that is a really silly thing for me to say. wouldnt change a thing either.

my ds is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!! i hope i dont end up the over bearing mummy when it comes to my ds!

back to the original query bout the car seat , it seems to me that car seats could do with improving radically . i find with my d she 4m that the straps arent high enough and have been told that they should sit 1inch above shoulder for them to protect correctly and my d's are at least 1 and 1/2 inch to low . petition ladies ????

gravity · 14/10/2005 17:55

how ridiculous is that hey? did a man make these? if that is the requirement car seats should be made accordingly.

also, i just bought a new booster seat for ds with inbuilt harness. did have booster with seperate harness, was no good.

she is 2y.5m but she is houdini, i swear. no matter wat harness she can manouvre her arms out. advice???? today i told her i was going to leave her at the shop carpark if she didn't leave her seat belt on. i actually took her out and shut car door (i sound awful, i know) she screamed at me, i told her off. i put her back in the car, but she left her belt on. there must be another way?????

never had the problem of my 4y or 8y not keeping thier harnesses on car seat or pram but i have always been harshly honest about the dangers of things like this and keep informing them of what would or could happen not to the point of scaring them or going on about death or anything but just that they could get very hurt and [ "the police man will get you and tell mummy off"] always seems to work ???
