Haircut nightmare with 18mo

My 18mo DD has loads of hair - it's past her shoulders at the back and she has a fringe that keeps getting in her eyes. Her first haircut went really well but they have got progressively worse since then with screaming and not staying still long enough to have anything done and the last one was so bad that the hairdresser just about managed a wonky fringe while I held her head but couldn't do the back at all. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get it done? She's too young for bribery, distraction doesn't work and it really does need cutting!

There's a TV in the place where we go and I ask them to put cbbss on!! it worked until DS2 decided he had a phobia of hair dryers... Could you try and cut it yourself? Maybe get a hairdresser to do the fringe and you do the back?

Use a mobile hairdresser who comes to your home? Bribery with chocolate mice

After deciding that running round the lounge after a toddler waving scissors was a Bad Idea I gave DS his first haircut while he was asleep Blush it's a bit mullety..

DP sat in the bath with DS and chopped his hair while he was busy playing. I don't think its worth paying someone to cut a toddlers hair- they're not going to be able to do any better job than you can.

It's pretty straight so can't really just chop bits off here and there. I've done the fringe once before when she was asleep and it wasn't too bad but when I tried another time she woke up. I guess if I can do the fringe then I can just let the back grow or try in the bath or something. She really does have a lot of hair though, it's very thick so it does need cutting straight otherwise it will look dreadful.
