motherease rikki or airflow?

I've used the rikki and think they're fab but want to try the airflow. Any feedback on them? Am a bit reluctant due to them being poppers and worried they may not fit properly.

I have used both.
They are both equally fab.

I used rikki wraps when my DCs were tiny, but changed to airflows as soon as they learned to open the velcro.

Neither of my two ever learned to open the poppers, they are just too hard to pull.

Don't worry about the fit. There are 3 poppers around each leg hole and 2 on each side of the waist. This allows really good sizing and I have never had a problem getting them to fit. If the poppers are the wrong size, usually the entire wrap is the wrong size. If the wrap fits, the poppers will be fine.
(I have children of average size and weight)

I agree both are good, I would just go for whicever I could get cheapest.

We're using the rikki wraps, but ended up with an airflow one from nursery. We hate the airflow one. It's impossible to get it tight enough, so it all ends up coming unloose in these and bits escape. The whole nappy gets pulled down with his trousers too. He's 17 months now, so not a tiny newborn.

I found rikki best for wriggly baby and we never had any leaks. Airflow was excellent too but did use these past 3 months as both DDs would keep still enough lol

Rikki for smaller babies, airflow once they're old enough to open velcro!! Seriously. Trust me on this!

TheProvincialLady · 05/02/2011 20:40

We use airflow, no problems with the fit or anything else really. My DC have skinny thighs.

GintyMarlow · 05/02/2011 20:46

I used airflow for DD and was very happy with them

I moved from Aplix (Airflow?) to poppers (Rikki) when DS learnt how to undo the aplix! He has skinny legs, but both fitted fine, otherwise very similar.

As Annie said.

We love our airflows. Never had a problem with fit etc. and they are good for bulkier nappies imo.

And DS can undo Velcro! I found loads cheap on a cloth nappy forum. They can discolour with washing so tend to sell really cheap but still work perfectly.

Airflows have lasted me through 4 children. The velcro did not last.

Chocattack · 05/02/2011 21:28

Rikki for me. To stop pulling velcro off I used body suits (with poppers underneath) to keep nappy in place.

Thanks everyone for your input! Will stick with the Rikki for now(he's only 7 weeks) and maybe get an airflow to see how we get on :)
